Bronx River Parkway Skate Skated Bronx River Parkway (a highway where normally no bikers or skaters are allowed) for Bronx River Parkway Bike & Skate Sundays. Bronx River Parkway Bike & Skate SundaysMet at the Bronxville train station and skated through a park for about a mile plus until we reached the beginning of the traffic-free zone, Bronx River Parkway (BRP). Then we took the parkway to White Plains and back.
Had a late luncn in a ristorante in Bronxville. It was a casual place but food is awesome.
RRP skate and nice food is highly recommended combination. Took 15:22 train back to NYC.

CanarIam boots Finally I met with boots I really like.
CanarIam Platino boots arrived on September 1st.
They run large, so I order 3/35. They are still slightly large, but seems manageable by using the insole came with the boots. Mounted Mogema M55-80, my favorite frame, and Hyperformance+G 80mm85a wheels. The first time, they felt great, but start hhurting my ankle bones after 5km or so. After 10k, pain became intolerable, particularly left ankle, which is unusual(normally my problem foot is right side). A good size of blister was generated... The seceond time, I used some sponge for pain absorber but did not work too well. I sould skate only few miles becasue of pain. The thrid time, I used more sponge, but the situation did not improve much. Did heat molding. First preheated an oven for 10 min for 170F, then turned the heat off. Placed left skate into the oven, then let it stay for 15 minutes. Then wore the boot with a sock on and tightly laced up, no buckle and tried to keep skating position for 20 minutes. The boots did not come with heat molding insturuction, so, I am not sure if this is the method CanarIam recommends, but seems it worked. The boots became pretty comfortable after the procedure, but still lacking fit, so I tried using different insoles such as 'Shock Doctor Footbed'. These worked beautifully. The boots become no-pain. Nyack Skate Nyack skate is one of my favorite. Met at Columbus Circle at 11:00 and skate up the west side of Manhattan over the GWB then off to Nyack via 9W. Our route will bring us north up Hudson Terrace, then over to 9W to experience the big ups and glorious down hills The skate end up in Nyack's Memorial Park for picnic. Great skate, great day. A2A is out, so is NYC 100K Is Inline Skating population declining... The two of major long distance race events for inline skating were cancelled for 2005. That are; A2A and NYC 100K. A2A（Athens to Atlanta）announced that they had to cancel 2005 A2A due to insufficient fund because of lack of participants. The events requires large amount of fixed cost regardless of numbers of participants, and there have not been enough participants these years, they said. They said that they would have A2A 2006. NYC 100K also expects 2006 race. But nothing is guaranteed. Sounds like inline skating population is shrinking. I hope the sport is not fading away, because it is so much fun! Coincidentally, I have been skating much less recently, but this is due to my work - I need to stay late at work very frequently so that I do not have enough opportunity to skate at weekday night. I expect my situation will improve sometime in January 2006.

Connecticut Beach Skate Connecticut Beach Skate is one of my favorite summer skate hosted by the fellow skater couple, Emily and Victor.
Met at Grand Central Station at 10:00 and took 10:07 train (Metro-North) to Westport, Connecticut.
Joined other skaters who drove to Westport at the station at around 11:25 then skated Westport, Southport & Fairfield Connecticut shore and then hit the beach.
Had a lucnch at the famous "Firehouse Deli" then sakted back to the beach and spent some time on the beach.
After the skate, a party was held at Victor and Emily's house and enjoyed a relaxed moment. The route with wonderful views including moderate hills are totally wonderful and took pleasure in skating.
